Evacuations in Cleveland Co. fire (The Charlotte Observer)

A Cleveland County plant that makes Christmas decorations is on fire this morning, and officials are evacuating some nearby residents. The fire is at Carpenter Decorating, in the 500 block of Plato Lee Road, northwest of Shelby. The blaze was reported about 4 a.m., and video from the scene shows that the plant was heavily engulfed in flames when crews arrived. The fire scene is a few miles …
